FOUR WEEKEND ACCIDENTS LEAD TO IMPAIRED OPERATION CHARGES AGAINST ORILLIA, GRAVENHURST, PORT CARLING AND UTTERSON DRIVERS

MUSKOKA — Impaired driving charges know no boundaries.

Four more people were arrested last Friday and Saturday charged with the similar offences in south Muskoka.

Friday, May 8:

At 6:40 a.m., OPP officers responded to reports of a single vehicle rollover on Highway 11 South near Southwood Road in Gravenhurst.

Several motorists stopped to assist and police arrested and charged Ryan Hickey, 36, of Orillia, with Impaired Operation by Drug.

Hickey is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on June 8, 2026.

Saturday, May 9:

At 1 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Bay Street and Muskoka Road South in Gravenhurst after a tanker truck was rear-ended by a pickup truck.

Officers arrived arresting and charging 32-year-old Kyle Parsons, Gravenhurst, also with Impaired Operation by Drug.

Parsons is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on June 16.

Saturday, May 9:

At 6:35 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision on Shea Road in Muskoka Lakes Township after a vehicle left the roadway and landed in the ditch.

Lynda Alward, 57, of Utterson, was charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80.

Alward is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on June 23, 2026.

Sunday, May 10:

At 2:25 p.m., police, paramedics and firefighters responded to a two-vehicle head on collision that occurred on Eveleigh Road in Muskoka Lakes Twp.

The driver of one vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

After an investigation into the collision, police arrested and charged 38-year-old Shelby Loshaw, of Port Carling, with Impaired Operation, Over 80 and Dangerous Driving.

Loshaw is also to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge, on June 23, 2026.
