ARBORIST DIES AFTER FALLING FROM TREE IN ORO-MEDONTE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON

ORO-MEDONTE — An arborist has died after falling from a tree this afternoon.

Police say they were called to a home in Oro-Medonte where a male was pronounced dead.

Shortly after 1 p.m., OPP from Orillia, Simcoe County Paramedic Service and Township of Oro-Medonte Fire, were dispatched to the residence on Huronwoods Drive in Oro-Medonte for a report of a male arborist who had fallen approximately 50 feet out of tree.

The Ministry of Labour, OPP Forensic Identification Services and the coroner were contacted and are further investigating.

The deceased has been identified as a 45-year-old male of Springwater Township.

The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in Oro-Medonte, south of Orillia.
Police say the 45-year-old victim fell about 50 feet out of the tree.
