SCOOTER RIDER, 82, HOSPITALIZED AFTER COLLISION WITH SUV IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — An 82-year-old scooter rider was seriously injured downtown here this morning in a collision with an SUV.

Police are looking for any witnesses to the two-vehicle collision in Gravenhurst Friday, May 19, shortly after 10 a.m.

They say officers along with emergency services, responded to the two-vehicle collision at Winewood Avenue and Muskoka Road North.

Eastbound Winewood Avenue was closed at Muskoka Road North for several hours as OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists complete their investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

There has been no word on the condition of the person riding the scooter.
