ACCUSED IN STOLEN VEHICLE CASE ARRESTED 3 DAYS LATER, FACES NEW THEFT, FIREARM CHARGES

GRAVENHURST — A Gravenhurst man charged with stealing a work vehicle March 19 was arrested and charged three days later with new

theft and firearms violations.

Police say that on March 22 officers with the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of the Barrie Police Service, and the Orillia, Southern Georgian Bay and Caledon CSCU teams executed two search warrants in Gravenhurst and Brampton following an investigation into several trailer thefts throughout Muskoka and Central Ontario.

As a result of the investigation, the following accused were arrested and face the following charges:

Brandon Tonna, 34, was one of four people charged.

He faces charges of:

  • Theft Over $5,000, CC 334(a) x4
  • Break and Enter, CC 348(1)(b)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, CC 355 x3
  • Mischief Under $5,000, CC 430(4)
  • Careless storage of a firearm, CC 86(1)
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm, CC 92(1)(a)

Also charged were:

Glenn Tonna, 60, of Gravenhurst:

  • Theft Over $5,000, CC 334(a) x11
  • Break and Enter, CC 348(1)(b)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, CC 355 x3
  • Possession of Break in Instruments, CC 351(1)
  • Mischief Under $5,000, CC 430(4) x4
  • Theft Under $5,000, CC 334(b)
  • Failure to Stop After an Accident, CC 320.16(1)

Kerri Anderson, 39, of Gravenhurst:

  • Theft Over $5,000, CC 334(a)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, CC 355 x2

George Hucal, 60, of Brampton:

  • Trafficking Property Obtained by Crime, CC 355.2

The four accused are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 25, 2023.
