PORT SYDNEY COUPLE WIN $100,000 LOTTO PRIZE FROM CHRISTMAS GIFT

PORT SYDNEY A stocking stuffer paid out big here for a happy couple whose “five-year plan can happen now.”

Melanie and Curtis Healey have collected a $100,000 prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD TRIPLER in the INSTANT GIFT PACK (Game #1929).

The couple aren’t regular lottery players, but the INSTANT GIFT PACK was a stocking stuffer from his mom, which they didn’t play for two weeks.

“I noticed I had six words and was hoping to win $100,” Melanie said while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.

“When I scanned it on the OLG App and saw $100,000, I thought something was wrong. I couldn’t believe it.”

She called her husband to share the news.

“I downloaded the OLG App on my phone to make sure it wasn’t a glitch. It was unbelievable,” he said.

The pair, who work in skilled trades, went to a store to validate their win and then called Curtis’ mom on FaceTime to share the news.

“We showed her the slip and thanked her for the best gift ever. She cried tears of joy for us,” he said.

They plan to pay some bills and complete some home renovations with their windfall, says an OLG release.

“Our five-year plan can happen now,” Curtis said.

INSTANT GIFT PACK was available for $20 a play and the top prize was $100,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.19.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kwik Way on Hwy. 69 in Val Caron.
