TWO GRAVENHURST DRIVERS CHARGED WITH DRUGS, IMPAIRED OPERATION WITHIN AN HOUR LAST NIGHT

GRAVENHURST — Two drivers here were arrested within an hour late last night charged with separate drug and impaired driving offences.

Police say that on Thursday Jan. 19, at 11 p.m., an officer was on patrol along Hwy. 11 in Gravenhurst when a driver lost control of their vehicle ahead of him and came to rest.

The officer stopped to assist and the officer determined the driver had an outstanding warrant.

A subsequent investigation resulted in a drug seizure and police arrested and charged 40-year-old Erin Krawetz, of Gravenhurst, with Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Methamphetamine) CDSA 4(1), Possession of a Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) CDSA 4(1) and Driving While Under Suspension HTA 53(1).

Krawetz is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Feb. 14, 2023.

Krawetz was recently charged Oct. 21 with Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a), Possession of a Schedule I substance CDSA 4(1) and Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purposes of Trafficking CDSA 5(2). See that related story here.

Also last night, just before 11:45 p.m. a member of the public called police after they became concerned about a person’s ability to drive while leaving a commercial area in Gravenhurst.

Police located the vehicle and driver in a residential area nearby and subsequently arrested and charged 46-year-old Jason Keith, of Gravenhurst, with Operation While Impaired -Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

Keith is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Feb. 7, 2023.

Two separate drivers were stopped by police in Gravenhurst just before midnight Thursday and charged with drug possession and impaired operation of a vehicle.
