FIRE MARSHAL INVESTIGATES CAUSE OF FOWLER CONSTRUCTION BLAZE LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON

BRACEBRIDGE — The Ontario Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a large industrial fire at the Fowler Construction headquarters last evening on Rosewarne Drive.

Two fire station crews from Bracebridge — with help from Gravenhurst — battled the supper hour blaze for several hours, which began late Thursday afternoon, Dec. 2.

Fire officials say the fire began just after 5 p.m. in a mechanical service bay and spread to adjacent vehicles and storage areas.

They say everyone on scene evacuated the structure safely and no injuries were reported.

Six fire trucks and more than 25 firefighters were on scene.

Firefighters from Gravenhurst provided mutual aid for water shuttle assistance, with two additional tanker trucks. Paramedics and Lakeland Power and Enbridge Gas workers were also on scene to assess the situation.
