JAMES STREET CLOSED FOR POLICE INVESTIGATION

GRAVENHURST — James Street was closed in both directions here late this morning for a police investigation at a home near the ballpark.

Neighbours reported seeing an armed OPP emergency response team (ERT) member dressed in camouflage.

Officers closed the west section of the road between Fernwood Drive and the North Muldrew Lake Road.

A heavy police presence saw eight cruisers lining the street and in a parking lot of the Muskoka Wharf.

A paramedic ambulance stood by at the North Muldrew Lake intersection, just outside its Gravenhurst station.

Several officers could be seen gathered in the front yard of the home, set back off the road, about noon.

The road was opened to traffic at 11:50 a.m.
