SNOWMOBILERS HIT CAR, HIT TREE, THROWN OFF SLED IN WEEKEND ACCIDENTS

MUSKOKA — Three snowmobilers ended up in hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries the past two days after separate accidents.

Police say they along with Muskoka EMS responded to three separate single vehicle collisions Friday and Saturday.

The first collision occurred at an address on Beaumont Drive in Bracebridge Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. when the driver struck a parked vehicle.

The second collision occurred an hour later near South Kahshe Lake Road in Gravenhurst, when the operator was ejected and his snow vehicle rolled over him.

The third incident took place yesterday morning at 10:45 a.m. when the operator hit a tree.

All three drivers were transported to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are reminding operators to exercise caution while enjoying their recreational vehicles including wearing proper safety equipment, being aware of their surroundings and knowing their own limitations and abilities.

Snowmobilers are taking advantage of good weather and relaxed stay-at-home rules to get out on the trails.
