DRIVERS DITCH VEHICLES, GET CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING

MUSKOKA — Two drivers who ditched their vehicles within an hour in separate accidents Thursday night face impaired driving charges.

The first, on Feb. 18, was at 7:15 p.m.

Police responded to a public 911 call about a driver on Muskoka Beach Road in Gravenhurst.

Officers located the vehicle in the ditch and as a result arrested Anthony Harbridge, 23, of Bracebridge.

He was charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

Harbridge is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice April 6, 2021.

An hour later, at 8:17 p.m., police received another call about a second vehicle in the ditch on Muskoka Road 118 West in Muskoka Lakes Township.

Officers approached the male and determined alcohol was a factor in the collision.

As a result Anthony Taus, 59, of Uxbridge was charged with Impaired Operation CC 320.14(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 320.14(1)(b).

Taus is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice April 20, 2021.
