GRAVENHURST WOMAN, HUNTSVILLE MAN LATEST WITH COVID

MUSKOKA — As Ontario experienced a huge spike in COVID-19 cases reported today at 401, two Muskoka residents have also tested positive, says the local health unit.

The man and woman are both under investigation as the origins of their diagnosis.

A woman from Gravenhurst is listed as aged 18-34.

And a man from Huntsville is aged 35-44.

They are among 13 coronavirus cases reported by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit today, Sept. 18.

In the past week, since last Friday, Sept. 11, Simcoe Muskoka’s COVID count is now up to 60.

As reported by the health unit:

  • Sept. 14 — 13
  • Sept. 15 — 9
  • Sept. 16 — 8
  • Sept. 17 — 12
  • Sept. 18 — 13

This as towns in Muskoka begin to open facilities.

And as local health officials urge smaller gatherings and warn people not to let their guard down on masks.
