PAIR CHARGED WITH TOSSING CONTRABAND INTO PRISON

GRAVENHURST — A man and woman from Ottawa were arrested Friday charged after it was suspected someone was tossing contraband into the Beaver Creek prison here.

Provincial police say that on May 15, at 9:45 p.m., officers responded to a concern regarding a vehicle parked near a correctional facility.

Police located the vehicle and occupants and as a result of their investigation charged Angela Wilson, 45, with Operation While Impaired -Over 80 CC320.14(1)(b) and Possession for the Purpose of Distributing CA (Cannabis Act) 9(2).

The passenger in the vehicle, Tholfikar Kadhum, 23, was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Distributing CA (Cannabis Act) 9(2).

They are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 4, 2020 to answer to their charges.

Police did not say whether the contraband was drugs or something else banned from the prison.
