SUNDAY DRIVERS FACE IMPAIRMENT CHARGES

HUNTSVILLE Two Sunday drivers here face impairment charges.

The first case was May 17 at 11:07 a.m.

The OPP received a traffic complaint from the public about a car being driven in a “dangerous manner.”

Police located the car on Caroline Street East.

As a result, Laurie Cruickshank, 49, of Huntsville was charged with Operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and Failure or refusal to comply with demand contrary to section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code.

Cruickshank was released to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville Ontario, on Aug. 5, 2020, to answer to her charges.

As in all cases were a driver has been charged with impaired driving, her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and her car impounded.

Also Sunday, at 3:12 p.m., officers checked a car on the Lorne Street south in Huntsville.

They say the driver appeared to have been drinking and when asked to provide a breath sample by he refused.

Rocky Racktoo, 68, of Huntsville, was charged with Failure or refusal to comply with demand contrary to section 320.15(1) of the Criminal Code.

Racktoo was released to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Huntsville Ontario, on Aug. 5, 2020.
