GRAVENHURST  — Elizabeth May breezed into Gravenhurst this afternoon with little fanfare and less of a carbon footprint.

The Green Party leader, who will speak at 7 p.m. tonight at a town meeting at the Muskoka Discovery Centre, was on hand to help candidate Gord Miller open his office in the east side of the Parry Sound-Muskoka riding.

She planned to do quick walkabout downtown before the meeting.

She called Miller a “strong and ethical candidate” who is “full of integrity,” and “will be an incredibly popular and loved MP.”

Miller this is the “most important Canadian election in our lifetime” and “it’s time to elect a green.”

And he says the Greens are “starting to catch fire with the youth and older generation who are worried about their grandchildren.”

It’s “urgent” he said.

They were joined former longtime local Green candidate Glen Hodgson, who said he was proud to have planted the Green roots that he hope will grow into a win in Parry Sound-Muskoka or elsewhere in Canada.

Hear and see more from Miller, May and Hodgson in video remarks from this afternoon in the clips below.

Green supporter Neil Hutchison, a longtime friend of Miller, drops into the Gravenhurst campaign office for a new sign.
