NDP PROMISES ‘PHARMACARE FOR ALL,’ CAP ON INTERNET COSTS

GRAVENHURST  — “Pharmacare head-to-toe for everyone.”

That’s the NDP promise “if you vote for the right party,” says their Parry Sound-Muskoka candidate.

In an interview Saturday with MuskokaTODAY.com, Tom Young says it would be “wonderful for everyone.”

He says businesses could save money if the government paid for dental, medical, mental health, eyeglasses, “everything.”

“Imagine going into the drug store with your health card instead of your credit card.”

He calls it “a no brainer.”

Going to the dentist or hospital shouldn’t be a “luxury.”

Young says health care is a “huge issue.”

He says he knows of people who get a prescription from a doctor, who can’t fill it or 100 per cent of it.

Then they go back into hospital, “it’s a vicious circle,” he says the NDP would stop.

Meanwhile, Young also says an NDP government would “put a cap” on internet service providers like Bell and Rogers, who he claims “gouge” consumers with high costs.
