100 WEATHER TERRY FOX RUN IN GRAVENHURST SUNDAY

GRAVENHURST  — About 100 Terry Fox supporter are pounding the pavement in raincoats and walking/running with umbrellas this morning (Sunday, Sept. 15) for the annual cancer run.

They were reminded that Terry Fox, who ran through Gravenhurst in 1981 and celebrated his birthday here at huge public celebration, weathered the same kind of conditions on his journey from the East Coast to Thunder Bay.

Orgnizers were happy with the turnout, led by almost two dozen Anglers Jr. A hockey team members.

And a lot of kids, parents, and a large group from the Wood Mill who wore yellow T-shirts and plastic bags over them.

Organizers Liz Foll, left, Jenn Chilvers, Leigha Johnston and John Blair give the thumbs up to the 100 people who ran and walked in the 39th Gravenhurst Terry Fox Run Sunday morning.
