ELIZABETH MAY IN GRAVENHURST TUESDAY FOR TOWN HALL

GRAVENHURST — Anyone who thought rural Canada isn’t in play in the federal election — or that the local riding race isn’t a tight one — will be interested to know that Green Party Leader Elizabeth May will be in Gravenhurst on Tuesday afternoon and evening for about a five-hour stop.

May is scheduled to be at the campaign office opening of her candidate Gord Miller, at 690 Muskoka Rd. S., at 4 p.m.

Afterwards, she will go canvassing with him and his volunteers door-to-door, before joining Millar at a town hall meeting from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Muskoka Discovery Centre, at the Muskoka Wharf.

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the public is welcome.

May’s media spokesperson Anna Dodd told MuskokaTODAY.com Monday that May’s reason for visiting was that she is in Ontario today (Monday) and Tuesday, and that she will be in the riding to support Millar, who is a first-time federal Green candidate in Parry Sound-Muskoka.

Millar, who is building a home in Bracebridge, is Ontario’s former environmental commissioner.
