BANGOR LODGE FIRE ‘SUSPICIOUS,’ SAY POLICE

BRACEBRIDGE — An afternoon fire Wednesday on a busy day for Bracebridge firefighters may be arson.

Hours before the massive blaze at Muskoka Tmber Mills, firefighters were at a structure fire at an abandoned building on the former Bangor Lodge property on Bowyers Beach Road.

Police say it was called in at 2:20 p.m. July 17.

The OPP now say the fire is suspicious and police are looking for any potential witnesses that may have seen activity on the property that may assist in the ongoing investigation.

The day began with the first of three fires, a blaze at a workshop in Fraserburg, around noon.
