FATHER’S DAY CAR SHOW IN BRACEBRIDGE SUNDAY JUNE 16

BRACEBRIDGE — It’s hard to find a parking spot here on Manitoba Street some days.

On Father’s Day if you have a classic or antique car or truck you’ve got reserved spot.

Bracebridge BIA officials will act as your valet director and park you on the main street for all your friends to see, as the tradition continues with the Downtown Bracebridge Father’s Day Car Show.

On Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Bracebridge Business Improvement Area will be hosting its 10th annual auto extravaganza.

Downtown Bracebridge is in for a traffic jam Sunday June 16 for the 10th BIA car show.

Tracy Larkman, BIA administrative coordinator, says: “This event has becoming a tradition in our community and is a great way to spend the day with dad.

“We would like to invite all car enthusiasts to Manitoba Street to join in on the fun. The show has steadily grown over the past several years and has given many car collectors an opportunity to show off their vehicles.”

This year’s event is brought to you by Rocky Island Tire Company.

For those wanting to participate, it will be open to all special interest vehicles from any era. There is a $5 registration fee and for the first 150 cars to register you will receive a dash plaque and goodie bag. You can pre-register at www.bracebridgecarshow.com or at the event.

There will be many terrific prizes for the participants courtesy of our supporting sponsors; Kubota North, Muskoka Chrysler and Speedy Auto Glass. There will also be a large selection of trophies to be won this year which have been generously donated by our community partners.

Awards and prizes will be presented at the bandshell in Memorial Park starting at 3pm. For those interested in being a part of the show registration will begin at 8 a.m. in Memorial Park and will remain open until 11am. This is a fun filled day for people to get out and spend some time with dad and is free for visitors.

Manitoba Street will be closed to traffic between Ontario Street and Anne Street starting at 7 a.m. and will re-open at 5:30 p.m.

They ask that all vehicles not participating in the show be out of this area before 7 a.m. or they will run the risk of being tagged and towed. Parking will be available within the parking lots in the surrounding area for visitors to use.
