GRAVENHURST — The Gravenhurst Horticultural Society invites you to take up painting and try on being an artist this month.

Art teacher Nancy Hunter is fun and fantastic at leading art parties, and you’ll take home a 5×7 floral water colour.

On Tuesday, June 18, Nancy Hunter, a well known local artist will teach how to do  a floral water colour.

Hunter is fun and fantastic at leading paint parties.

All skill levels will be able to participate, and produce a 5×7 floral painting to take home.

Or come along for the fun of observing on Tuesday, June 18, 7 p.m. at the Seniors Centre, 480 First St. N., Gravenhurst.  Members: $2; Guests: $5

The Horticultural Society rents space from the Seniors Centre in Gravenhurst and meets on the third Tuesday of March, April, May, June, September, October and November. The Society hosts a plant sale in May, a Garden Show & competition in August and a photography contest in November.

Guest speakers are brought in three or four times a year.

Members garden together every second Friday morning at the Main Street Park where the members have over past years tended the gardens.

After gardening the members have lunch at the Impact Café, which provides free noon hour meals on Fridays courtesy of the District of Muskoka.

The next Gardening Together happens on Friday, June 21 at 9:30 a.m.

Meet at the Main Street gardens. This is a great way to get involved in the community, get some exercise and have lunch.

Just show up and introduce yourself.
