Muskoka Concert Band: ‘We Remember’ Nov. 10 Gravenhurst

GRAVENHURST — A fall tradition takes on a pleasant new turn this year, as the Muskoka Concert Band’s annual Remembrance Day concert falls on the day before Nov. 11.

Normally, the band presents its concert on the Sunday before local and national services.

But this year, it’s Nov. 10, again at the Trinity United Church here at 2 p.m.

So, it’s a weekend of music and remembrance, in Gravenhurst.

On Nov. 11, at the Royal Canadian Legion, the Gravenhurst Bifocals Band will play as it does each year before and during Remembrance Day Services.

Meanwhile, on the Saturday afternoon, the Muskoka Concert Band under the baton this year of conductor Fran Harvey will perform a mindful and uplifting presentation of songs and tunes that reflect the First and Second World Wars.

And some more.

Over the past decade or so the MCB has performed this concert the first week of November to appreciative audiences.

The concert is a co-presentation with the church.

A free will offering will be split between the church and band.

Trinity United Church is on Muskoka Road south in Gravehurst, across from the Stedman’s V&S department store, near the post office.
