Trek for Tourette raises $4,500 on Sunday

GRAVENHURST — A sunny day, more than 40 people — plus two dogs — and lots of green led to a pot of gold Sunday.

Tourette supporters found $4,500 at the end of their rainbow Sunday in Gravenhurst.

The 10th  annual noon-hour Trek for Tourette at the Gravenhurst Centennial Centre raised $4,500 for Tourette Canada’s education and awareness campaign.

It was one of 14 walks across Canada.

The 5K Muskoka trek added to the $34,000 the group has raised since its first walk in 2008, said oranizer Shawn Forth in Monday’s release.

The Muskoka chapter holds meetings the second Tuesday of the month at the Muskoka Falls Public School from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Educators, medical professionals, families and individuals are welcome to attend.

The next meeting is April 10.
