MUSKOKA — An overnight crime spree that led police on a seven-house hunt that went from Huntsville to Port Carling to Georgian Bay led to four teens being charged a week ago.

OPP in Bracebridge made the final arrests after police calls began late Tuesday and lasted until 5:30 a.m. Wednesday after Huntsville OPP officers responded to several calls for service involving break and enters and stolen vehicles.

  • At 10:30 p.m., July 28, police in Huntsville responded to an alarm at a business on Main Street West, after a window was smashed and a vehicle stolen from the property.
  • At 1:20 a.m., officers from Bracebridge responded to a report of people attempting to enter a car on Maple Street in Port Carling.

However, the witness honked at them and they fled the scene.

  1. At 2:15 a.m., officers also from Bracebridge again responded to an alarm at a business on Lake Joseph Road, in Georgian Bay Township.

That’s where they discovered a second vehicle had been stolen at that location.

As officers were later patrolling the area, they observed the stolen vehicles on Carr Road in Port Carling.

However the suspects had fled on foot.

The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) along with the OPP K9 unit attended to assist with the search.

  • At 5:30 a.m. they located and arrested the four suspects.

Police arrested two 14-year-old boys from Huntsville, charging each of them with the following offences:

  • Break, enter a place- commit indictable offence X 2
  • Mischief X 3
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle X 2
  • Possession of property obtained by Crime over $5,000

Two girls, also from Huntsville, ages 14 and 15, were each charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.

The identities of the accused young people are protected under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) and they are all set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice- youth court September 3, 2026.
