HUNTSVILLE — Another vehicle theft here has police once again asking the public’s help in locating it.
After a car-jacking here last week, in which a suspected was arrested and charged within 45 minutes down in Gravenhurst, police now say they are investigating a second unrelated theft.
Some time in the afternoon of July 31, between noon and 5 p.m., someone stole a commercial pick-up truck parked at MacDonald Steel, a business on Ceramic Mine Road North.
The motor vehicle is a white 2017 Chevrolet, Silverado, with the company’s logo MacDonald Steel on both sides of the cab. Its licence plate is AS34383.
Shortly later it was spotted north of town on Ontario Street in Burk’s Falls at about 7 p.m. the same the evening.
The company operates several similarly-marked vehicles throughout the Muskoka and Burk’s Falls areas.
It specializes in structural steel and steel pile docks in residential and industrial buildings, and operates several vehicles with the same MacDonald Steel logo on its vehicles and police say any other public sightings may not be related to this investigation.
The Huntsville OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the theft or the current whereabouts of the vehicle is encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
