TWO DRIVERS STOPPED, CHARGED AFTER MIDNIGHT SATURDAY WITH IMPAIRED DRIVING AND OVER

MUSKOKA LAKES Public concerns about the behaviour of a pair of late night drivers on Muskoka Road 169 near Bala sent police on a lookout for the vehicles Sunday.

On July 19, at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a report another driver about the condition of the two vehicle operators.

They were subsequently found near Moon River Road for a traffic stop of both vehicles.

After an investigation police arrested and charged 26-year-old Alexander Toth, of Gravenhurst, charging him with Impaired Driving and Over.

Also charged was 26-year-old Thomas Cote, of Oakville, who faces a similar charge of Impaired Driving – Over 80 charge

Toth and Cote are to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on September 1, 2026 to answer to their charges.

The complaint from another driver came at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19 near Bala.
