GRAVENHURST — A 21-year-old man has died in a mid-afternoon collision today with another vehicle on the Gravenhurst Parkway near the Reay Road.

Police say they are still investigating the Friday, June 19, accident reported at 3:40 p.m. not far from the Muskoka Airport and Beaver Creek federal prisons.

Although emergency crews were on scene quickly, lifesaving measures were not successful, and the driver of the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries.

Individuals in the motor vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with this complex investigation, and the Gravenhurst Parkway will be closed in that area until further notice.

Further updates will be provided as they become available.
