DRIVER AIRLIFTED TO TORONTO LAST NIGHT AFTER STRIKING SEVEN VEHICLES AND RESIDENTIAL HOME

HUNTSVILLE A multiple-vehicle collision that landed a driver in hospital with serious injuries at midnight Thursday also forced residents of a home also struck to be relocated to a local hotel.Police are looking for video after investigating the incident.

On Friday, April 24, officers responded to the area of Main Street West at approximately midnight following reports of a multi-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival they determined discovered a single vehicle had left the roadway, striking seven unoccupied parked vehicles and causing structural damage to a nearby residence. Due to safety concerns related to the damage the residents were temporarily relocated to a local hotel.

The 30-year-old driver of the initial vehicle was transported by ORNGE air ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police charge suspect in 2 of 4 break-ins

Meanwhile, officers continue to investigate four break and enters and are again asking for the public’s assistance.

As a result of the investigation on April 10, Dylan Bannister, 24, of Huntsville, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Break, Enter a Place (2 counts)
  • Theft under $5000 (2 counts)
  • Mischief under $5000

The charges stem from break and enters at a business on Main Street in Huntsville on March 27, and a business on Highway 60 in Lake of Bays on April 4, 2026.

The accused was held for bail and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Tuesday May 5th, 2026.

Police continue to investigate the remaining break and enters.
