CAR DRIVER SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURIES AFTER COLLISION WITH TRANSPORT THIS MORNING IN HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE (Jan. 29) — Highway 11 northbound is temporarily closed today and traffic rerouted onto into town to Hwy. 60 for a collision investigation between a car and transport.

Police responded closing Muskoka Rd. 2 (Ravenscliffe Road) and traffic is being re-routed through town towards Highway 60. The northbound ramp onto Hwy. 11 was closed.

The two vehicles involved were a passenger car and transport.

OPP, firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene, and the driver of the car was transported to hospital by EMS with significant injuries.

The O.P.P. Technical Collision Investigation unit is on scene and is continuing the investigation.

Highway 11 northbound will continue to be closed until this part of the investigation is complete.

Motorists were asked to avoid Highway 11 in this area and follow alternate routes through Huntsville in order to continue onto Highway 11 northbound.

The road eventually opened just after 3 p.m.
