CELEBRATION OF SUSAN HALLIDAY’S ‘WELL-LIVED LIFE,’ SATURDAY SEPT. 9, IN GRAVENHURST

GRAVENHURST — Family and friends of Susan Halliday, a Gravenhurst artist and teacher, will be celebrating her life and many well-lived life accomplishments Saturday, Sept. 9, at her home in Gravenhurst.

She passed away June 8, 2023, near Seattle, en route north while driving from her winter home in Cabo, Mexico, with husband Paul Clairmont.

She would have been 77 on July 17.

Halliday was well-known in local art circles hosting home art classes and parties and exhibting at local restaurants.

She was also one of the first artists to paint Muskoka chairs for the downtown, which were then auctioned off for charity by the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce.

Clairmont is hosting family and friends from 1-3 p.m. at their home at 1164 Muskoka Beach Rd.

Susan Halliday, an Oakville native and accomplished artist, gave art lesson classes both in Gravenhurst and Cabo, Mexico, She was 76.
