THE HEAT IS ON — TOTAL FIRE BAN IN PLACE ACROSS MUSKOKA AS OF MAY 12

MUSKOKA — Temperatures in the high 20s have led to a no fire order from Muskoka fire chiefs.

They say in a release this morning that due to quickly accelerating dry conditions and multiple fire starts, they’ve issued a the total fire ban for all of Muskoka, effective 12:01am on Thursday, May 12.

The fire danger rating for Muskoka is now set at extreme.

There is a total ban on all fires until further notice.

No fires of any type are permitted, including no fires for cooking or warmth.

And no fireworks are allowed.

Call 911 to report any fires.
