MAN CHARGED AFTER AIR PISTOL USED IN ‘ARMED ROBBERY’ SUNDAY IN HUNTSVILLE

HUNTSVILLE A man on probation was in bail court this morning after being arrested and charged after a robbery here yesterday in which an air pistol was used, say police.

They say that on Sunday, May 8 at 5:20 p.m., a 911 call had them responding for a robbery in progress at a business on Main Street East in the town of Huntsville.

Police located the suspect on Susan Street and after a brief interaction officers arrested the suspect and seized $170, which was stolen in the robbery, along with air pistol used in the robbery, they say.

At the time of the arrest, Christopher Dinsmore, 27, of Huntsville, was bound by two Probation Orders with the following conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

He was charged with:

Robbery using a firearm contrary to section CC 344(a) of the Criminal Code.

Two counts of fail to comply with Probation Order contrary to section 733.1 of the Criminal Code.

Dinsmore was held in custody last night for a bail hearing May 9, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice Muskoka.
