TWO DRUG IMPAIRED CHARGES AND A TRACTOR-TRAILER ACCIDENT

MUSKOKA — “Who owns the black truck parked out front?”

That wasn’t the question trivia game players expected to hear at Sawdust City Tuesday night.

“It’s mine,” answered the vehicle owner when an OPP officer went in to inquire.

Police say they responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Muskoka Road north in Gravenhurst Nov. 9 at 8:25 p.m.

They say a southbound vehicle struck the truck parked in front of the craft brewery.

After their investigation they charged Kyle McIntyre, 28, of Gravenhurst, with Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a) and Driving While Under Suspension HTA 53(1). McIntyre is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Jan. 18. 2022.

The weekly trivia competition continued with a good question for anther game.

A second Gravenhurst driver also faces drug impaired and possession charges after another arrest early today.

Police in Bracebridge say they were conducting general patrol in the town during the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 12, and noticed a vehicle parked behind a commercial building near Muskoka Road 118.

Officers spoke to the occupant and charged Branden Reed, of Gravenhurst, with Impaired Operation by Drug CC 320.14(1)(a) and Possession of Schedule I Substance CDSA 4(1).

Reed is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Dec. 28, 2021.

Meanwhile, yesterday, the OPP, Muskoka EMS and Georgian Bay Fire Department, responded to a report of a three-vehicle collision on Hwy. 400 south near Go Home Lake Road in Georgian Bay Township, Nov. 11, at 6:30 a.m.

They say a passenger car was stopped on the highway after a collision and two tractor-trailers collided with the stopped vehicle.

The driver of the passenger car was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured.
