GRAVENHURST — A return to swimming, riding and running drew 500 Olympic distance triathlon competitors here this weekend.

MultiSport Triathlon Canada held only its second event of the season as it welcomed the swimmers, cyclists and runners — along with cheering family and friends.

Saturday was warmer than Sunday, but today’s weather didn’t dampen spirits for the 1,500 metre swim, 40K ride and 10K run.

There was also a duathlon for runners and riders.

MultiSport has run several races in Gravenhurst before COVID — and across Muskoka and Ontario, but many athletes of all ages enjoys this course because it lets some of them jump off the Wenonah II to start with a swim to shore.

That’s followed by a 20K ride out Hwy. 169 and back and the run up North Muldrew Lake Road past the Muskoka Bay Golf Course.

There were eight different events that started and finished at the Muskoka Wharf.
