PET HAWK ‘ARSENAL’ REPORTED STOLEN IN RAMARA WEDNESDAY

RAMARA — Police are looking for a missing bird and possible suspect after pet hawk was reported stolen Wednesday.

They are investigating the theft of a pet Ferruginous Hawk from a Ramara residence.

On Feb. 3 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., the hawk disappeared from outside the home.

One-year-old “Arsenal” was reportedly securely tethered outside of the residence at the time.

The owner noticed the bird was missing and searched the area, locating foot prints nearby.

The tether is also missing so, in the unlikely event that the hawk escaped, the tether should still be attached to its leg.

If anyone has information regarding the missing hawk or knows of its whereabouts, please contact the Orillia OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit your information online at www.crimestopperssdm.com.  Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display and you will remain anonymous. Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.

Arsenal was securely tethered to his perch outside a Ramara home and if he flew the coup would likely still have the tether attached say police.
