ROBBERY SUSPECT’S NAME RELEASED BY POLICE TODAY

GRAVENHURST — Police have released the name of the suspect they arrested last week in a number of robbery incidents, including two in Gravenhurst and one each in Orillia and Coboconk.

They say that as a result of the Orillia OPP Crime Unit investigation, Sebastian Gaudino, 46, of Minden Hills Township, has been charged with:

  • Robbery with Weapon, contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code;
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, contrary to Section 91(2) of the Criminal Code.

He will be in the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia Dec. 1.

An employee at this Lester Square Variety eventually called 911 after the second robbery attempt last Monday night around the corner from the first attempt at the Winewood Variety in Gravenhurst.
