DOZENS OF DRUG CHARGES AFTER HWY. 11 SPEED STOP TODAY

GRAVENHURST — An overnight speed enforcement today led police to a large drug haul and the arrest of three people who now face more than two dozen charges.

The OPP said this afternoon that in the early hours of Nov. 22 officers with the Bracebridge detachment stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 11 in Gravenhurst.

They say the vehicle was stopped for speeding and as a result of their investigation, two men and a 16-year-old youth were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

With the assistance of the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Central Region Canine, a search of the vehicle was conducted at the Bracebridge OPP detachment.

Police seized:

  • 15.1 grams purple fentanyl
  • 25 grams yellow fentanyl
  • 2.2 grams beige fentanyl
  • 14.3 grams crack cocaine
  • 30 x Oxy 40mg
  • 2 x Percocet 5mg Oxycodone
  • $1,180 Canadian Currency
  • 29.6 grams Gold Bullion Pebbles with a stree value of $1.788
  • And a prohibited knife

Tyson was released on an Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Feb. 2, 2021.

The other two accused have been held in custody to appear for bail at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Nov. 23, 2020.

Police pulled over speeding vehicle early today leading to the arrest and drug charges against three people, one from Orillia and two from North York.
