THIEF STEALS KEYS, CAR DURING FIRE ALARM SUNDAY

GRAVENHURST — An opportunistic thief who took advantage of a fire alarm is being sought in the theft of a car last night.

Provincial police are investigating the incident at a residence on Second Street Sunday, Oct. 18.

They say that while the apartment building was being evacuated due to a fire alarm the thief stole the victim’s keys and later his vehicle, a 2019 silver Kia RIO bearing Ontario marker CLDR856.

Police ask that anyone with information or video footage from surveillance in that area are asked to call Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
