GRAVENHURST — COVID may have slowed a lot of development, but a major housing plan is proceeding here in the town’s south end town core and should break ground next spring.

Greg Jones, president of of SkyDev, says: “We are proceeding as planned with our mixed use investment in Gravenhurst.”

He says in response to an email from MuskokaTODAY.com that the coronavirus “has not set us back.

“We are diligently working through site plan control with the town, district and various agencies.

“We are aiming to break ground on the first phase of two rental apartment buildings this (coming) spring with over 100 new homes for future residents.”

He added that the other phases of apartments will follow based on leasing.

The project also includes a hotel.

Jones added: “Yes the hotel is still planned.

“We will be in a better position to provide a start date from the proposed owner/operator early next year.”

The first phase would include two rental apartment buildings with over 100 new homes for future residents, says Jones.
