STUNT DRIVING CHARGE FOR 98 KM/H OVER LIMIT

GRAVENHURST — An Oakville man headed north in a hurry was clocked at 98 km/h over the speed limit Wednesday.

Police say that at 11 p.m., Sept. 16, an officer was on radar patrol on Hwy. 11 north, just south of Gravenhurst’s core, and spotted vehicle travelling at a very high rate of speed.

The officer clocked the vehicle at 188 km/h in a 90 km/h posted zone.

After giving chase and pulling over the driver, the 26-year-old was charged with stunt driving.

His licence was suspended, as per ususal, for seven days and his vehicle has been impounded.

Police stopped the driver at 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 16 on Hwy. 11 NB in south Gravenhurst doing 188 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone.
