STOLEN VEHICLE LEADS TO ARREST OF MAN 38

GRAVENHURST — The driver of a stolen vehicle was charged with impaired driving Monday.

Provincial police say that at 4 p.m. on May 25 the OPP responded to a report of a vehicle taken without the owner’s consent in Gravenhurst.

The caller also said the suspect had been drinking alcohol.

Officers located and stopped the vehicle, which was travelling north on Hwy. 11, in Huntsville.

And they charged 38-year-old Steven Lacoursiere with Operation While Impaired CC 320.14(1)(a), Over 80 CC 320.14 (1)(b), Take Motor Vehicle Without Consent CC 335(1) and Fail to Comply with Probation CC 733.1(1).

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on August 4, 2020 to answer to his charges. His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
