HVL. WOMAN FACES DRUG CHARGES

A Huntsville woman was caught overnight with illegal drugs during a police vehicle stop on the main street here.

Shortly after midnight, Friday, April 3, provincial police say an officer pulled over the vehicle on Main Street E., after what was said to be “concerning” driving behaviour.

In the interaction and after an investigation, the OPP charged passenger Sarah Vasey, 31, with the following:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act.
  • Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Vasey was released on an Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville, on June 17, 2020, to answer to her charges.

Police found these suspected drugs when they pulled over a vehicle and charged Sarah Vasey, of Huntsville, a passenger in the vehicle.
