PIANISTS KYUNG-A LEE, ABBY LIANG DEC. 14 MCA DELIGHTS

GRAVENHURST — There are some great local Christmas concerts this time of year.

But if you want to see and hear two of the most superbly talented Muskoka artists in our midst, catch the Dec. 14 Muskoka Concert Association show at the Gravenhurst Opera House, 7 p.m.

Pianists Kyung-A Lee and Abby Liang are astounding.

The former is a professional concert performer now living in Huntsville (after recently moving from Port Sydney); and the latter is her Gravenhurst child prodigy student.

Both have dazzled local audiences of late, notably in separate appearances at the Gravenhurst United Church, and elsewhere.

But next week they will both be playing the same Steinway grand.

Liang, age 9, who has emerged as a future star, received early musical tutelage from Dan McCoy, the Gravenhurst United Church minister of music.

And recently, she has teamed up with Lee, who had a classical career in Calgary before moving to Port Sydney.

Together, they promise an exceptional evening of music unseen or heard of in Muskoka this season and one that continues to elevate the high standards of the Muskoka Concert Association, which is in its 71st year.

Tickets are $32 and available at www.gravenhurstoperahouse.com, the Box Office and at 705-687-5550.
