GRAVENHURST — How about that applause for Claus?

The Mr. and Mrs. Santa received a standing — and sitting — ovation at their annual Christmas parade Saturday, where they were riding high — and low —in the Gateway to Muskoka.

He was reining in Rudolph and eight spectacular reindeer; she was driving a golf cart.

They were last — but certainly not least — as another large Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce event filled local streets from Bethune Drive down Veteran’s Way onto Muskoka Road, headed due north past Sawdust City and to the Royal Bank turnoff.

And what a warm welcome the kids, their families and friends gave everyone who participated on a perfect mid-November Saturday morning to past noon.

There were hundreds in the parade and more than double and triple that number of smiling faces young and old along the way.

Here’s pretty much everything in the parade, as seen from MuskokaTODAY.com photographer Lois Cooper’s vantage point at the start of it all, as the parade came to her at Muskoka Road and Veteran’s Way.
