DARK PICKUP TRUCK SOUGHT AFTER HIT-AND-RUN

GRAVENHURST — A hit-and-run pickup truck driver is being sought by police after an accident on Bay Street Wednesday morning.

Provincial police say that on Sept. 4 at 10 a.m. officers responded to a report of a fail to remain collision that occurred at the intersection of Bay Street at Greavette Street.

They say the victim’s vehicle was travelling west on Bay street through the S bend and was about to continue down toward the Muskoka Wharf area when a vehicle that had been stopped on Bay Street, waiting to turn north onto Greavette Street, advanced before the victim had completed the turn and caused a collision.

The victim’s vehicle suffered moderate damage and the suspect vehicle fled the scene, last seen eastbound on Brown Street.

The suspect vehicle is described as newer model dark grey or black Dodge 1500 series pickup truck, with tinted windows and a hard tonneau (flat top) cover on the back of the box.

It should have front end damage.
