TORONTO MAN WHO DROWNED IN PEN LAKE FOUND

HUNTSVILLE — The body of a man who was boating and swimming with his family Monday afternoon was recovered in a local lake here early Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 1 p.m. August 20, members of the OPP Under Water Search and Recovery Unit located the missing male in the water in Peninsula Lake, in the east end of Huntsville

Police identified the deceased male as Martin Scholz, 56, of Toronto.

The OPP say they would “like to thank everyone for their assistance in this tragic event.”

On Monday at 5 p.m. Huntsville and Lake of Bays Fire Department, Muskoka EMS and OPP at Huntsville got a 911 call about two missing people in Pen Lake.

They located a female in a boat advising that her husband and son had gone in for a swim, the wind had picked up and the boat floated away from the two.

She was unable to get the boat started, and immediately called 911.

The Huntsville Fire marine, Huntsville OPP marine, CFOPP searched the waters for the missing people.

The son was found by boaters and taken to hospital and released.

OPP divers recovered the A 56-year-old Toronto man in Pen Lake Tuesday, after a swimming accident late Monday afternoon.
