MISSING MAN MAY HAVE DROWNED IN PEN LAKE MONDAY

HUNTSVILLE — Police divers are still looking for a man who may have drowned Monday afternoon while boating with his wife and swimming with his son.

OPP divers continued to search Tuesday in Penninsula Lake in Huntsville for a man who may have drowned while boating and swimming with his family.

19, at 5 p.m. Huntsville and Lake of Bays Fire Department, Muskoka EMS and Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were advised two missing people in Peninsula Lake, Huntsville.

Members located a female in a boat advising that her husband and son had gone in for a swim, the wind had picked up and the boat floated away from the two.

She was unable to get the boat started, and immediately called 911 for assistance.

Huntsville Fire marine, Huntsville OPP Marine Unit, CFOPP searched the waters for the missing people.

Sometime after the initial search, the son was located by boaters in the area and taken to shore.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

All emergency personnel continued searching for the other male, until near dusk.

Huntsville detachment members along with Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) will return to resume the search of the male Peninsula Lake on Tuesday morning.

Huntsville OPP request that boaters to stay clear of the search area on Tuesday.
