ROB AND ALLYN ABBOTT RECEIVE PAUL HARRIS HONOUR

GRAVENHURST — Service Before Self.

That’s the Rotary way and Rotary International’s motto.

And few others exhibit the way Rob and Allyn Abbott.

The Gravenhurst couple and Rotarians were recently recognized for unyielding dedication the to the town and wider Muskoka community for their volunteer efforts.

They each received the club’s prestigious Paul Harris Honour for the individual and joint efforts.

Rob and Allyn Abbott are busy members of the Gravenhurst and Muskoka community, volunteering widely. They are now Rotary Paul Harris Fellows for their outstanding efforts. The Rotarians were recently recognizied by their club in June 2019. 

Longtime environmentalists, she is a former president of the Muskoka Heritage Trust and Muskoka Conservancy.

He is a past president of the Muskoka Winter Carnival.

The retired couple were also on the board of their Kahshe Lake cottagers’ association.

They are very active helping around town, behind the scenes, helping as Rotary Connects the World, this years’s theme.

They have been with the Gravenhurst Rotary Club since 2016.

They were honoured at the club’s president’s night at the Dock of the Bay in late June, 2019.
