ATV DRIVER HITS TREE, AIRLIFTED TO TORONTO

DYSART ET AL — The 31-year-old woman remains in a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries after an ATV accident Thursday.

Provincial police say that on August 22 officers from the Haliburton Highlands detachment and emergency crews were called to assist at an ATV collision on Highland Street shortly after 6 p.m., east of Dorset.

It appears the lone female rider lost control of the ATV, collided with a tree and was ejected from the machine.

OPP were on-scene for several hours while their collision reconstruction team investigated and gathered evidence.

The Haliburton Highlands OPP continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
