DROA FLOOD APPLICATION DEADLINES AUG. 29, SEPT. 11

BRACEBRIDGE — Three months after flooding began and the damage was done, there’s only a month left for victims to apply for provincial assistance.

Parry Sound-Muskoka MPP Norman Miller is reminding residents and small businesses who are eligible for Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) that they have a limited time to apply for assistance following the spring 2019 flooding.

The Ontario government activated the DRAO program for the towns of Bracebridge and Huntsville and the Township of Muskoka Lakes after flooding that began on April 19.

He says the deadline to submit an application to this program is Aug. 29.

The program was also activated for the Townships of Ryerson and Armour and the Village of Burk’s Falls with an application deadline of Sept. 11.

MPP Norm Miller, centre, reminds flood victims to get their DROA applications in the next six weeks.

DROA is designed to help victims of natural disasters to get back on their feet.

Eligible residents can apply for help with costs including emergency expenses, clean-up costs and repairs to or replacement of essential property at a primary residence.
