HISTORIC CROWDS GREETING RAPTORS FOR CHAMPIONSHIP PARADE IN TORONTO

TORONTO Raptors history continues to be made.

‘WE THE NORTH’ day in Toronto is turning out to be one of the greatest sports celebrations in Canada.

After its historic win Thursday they are making more history Monday morning with their championship parade.

And what a crowd — estimates are one to two million people will line the route from their training centre at the Exhibition Place, along Lakeshore Boulevard, up University Avenue to Queen Street and east to Nathan Philip Square where a massive crowd is waiting for Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry to bring home the Larry O’Brien NBA trophy.

Players are call it a “dream.”

TV images show Raptors fans like never before on the streets, on poles, on top of any vantage point to witness the historic double-decker bus ride by the basketball team.

Millions more are tuning in online, streaming and watching on mobile devices, which are having trouble keeping up with all the signals bounced around the world.

It’s expected to last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with noon being the estimated time of arrival for official celebration and presentation.

It’s going to take time for the the Raptors and the Larry O’Brien trophy to arrive downtown, along with a smiling Drake, right.
